Scattering QR codes

Everyone knows QR codes are just a bundle of good fun, so I’m going to start this day off with a little social experiment to see how many people would notice and decode a QR code if they saw one in the wild. I printed 6 of the same QR code and posted them around a mall, to see how many people decoded them I made the QR code link to a bitly link which has a hit counter on it.

This crazy concept idea actually looks pretty cool, although I’m damn sure a solar panel that small wouldn’t really be that useful if three devices where plugged into it, it still looks really cool, but at the same time really stupid…tell me what u think.

Learning Things Fast Without Changing The Lazy Bastard Within

So, you’re standing alone, naked, in the middle of a freeway, talking to your close friend, when he busts out the term “Random access memory” In moments you realize that that word doesn’t mean anything to you and in a flurry of fear and confusion you whip out your iPhone and head on over to Wikipedia to look it up. Unfortunately if you did take the “wiki” path you’d be screwed. The Wikipedia entry for “Random access memory” upwards of 5 pages long. So, what do you do in a situation like this?

http://simple.wikipedia.com

Surprisingly, not that many people know about this magnificent version of wikipedia. It creates really short and easy to understand version of, what could be, really complex things. Look at this side by side comparison between the page for RAM on simple.wikipedia.com and the same page but on wikipedia.com

Simple vs Wiki

It’s insane how something that seems so simple could, if used correctly, DESTROY THE WORLD, or at least do something incredibly weird. At first you might think that associating an emotion like happiness with a word is ridiculous but honestly if that happened to you without you noticing that might subconsciously work. IN FACT maybe that’s whats going on right now before you very eyes ¬.¬

Wow, it feels like whenever you think we’ve reached the pinnacle of technological achievement, someone sweeps in with something that just blows you away. Today I stumbled on this amazing concept video, showing something that doesn’t seem that unachievable. Granted in order to achieve this you’d need to most likely provide the service facial data to sign up, which could scare away some people. Unfortunately this is a concept video and this company hasn’t really released anything groundbreaking….besides….the concept videos. Anyway if you wanna check out some more of there cool videos http://tr.im/tIA8 they really are amazing.

Crazy Awesome Torrenting App....maybe

The stagnant air of a untidy room filled my lungs with disgust as I tore away at my morning blog readings. Everything seemed ordinary with todays news until one rebellious digg headline popped out at me it read Movie Thearter Streams 2k Resolution Film Using Bittorrent This implied that there was an app out there that lets you stream torrent movies without having to download them first…..legal movies *cough* of course. SO In a bout of excitement and wonder I smashed my keyboard to the ground, roared, and went on to see what this was all about.

In a matter of seconds I found this application called tribal which is what these people used to stream the film. To my amazment this app had a mac version. The app looks a bit shaky and I haven’t been able to get the streaming to work yet mostly cause i’m downloading alot of other things, but if you wanna check it out go here and D.L. yourself a copy http://www.tribler.org/trac
